my experience at albert guest house was certainly enlightening. the bathroom was like a sauna of mold and there were not enough pillows, how rude! i expected at least a complimentary upgrade for enduring such discomfort, but alas nothing, so disappointed.

quiet, clean, welcoming
I thoroughly enjoyed staying in a Budget Double Room for 18 nights! The room was impressively quiet, allowing for restful nights. Plus, I loved that it was just a 7-8 minute walk to the town center, making it perfect for exploring.

I enjoyed walking to Kingston town center. The mattress had blood stains, which was unacceptable.

missingWrote a review on Nov 15well-lit roomhot waterthin walls
The room had a nice size and was well-lit, making the stay quite comfortable. The hot water in the shower was a pleasant surprise, an essential for me. I appreciated having a kettle in the room for a warm drink, which added a nice touch. the bathroom was quite small, and I found the shower and sink drainage to be a bit troublesome. Dust was noticeable in some corners, and the walls felt thin, allowing sounds from neighboring rooms to intrude. Noisy guests disrupted the peace at times. Despite the friendly demeanor of the staff, the overall maintenance could use more attention. The check-in process was uncomplicated, but it felt impersonal having no one at reception. A bit of character from the proprietor would improve the guest experience significantly.

missingWrote a review on Nov 06spacious roommaintenance issues
The room I stayed in was adequately sized and well-lit, which made my time there quite comfortable.
There was a noticeable lack of attention to maintenance, as the shower pipe was leaking, creating a messy situation.

missingWrote a review on Nov 02decent sizehot waterstained sheets
The budget single room offers a decent size that can work for a solo traveler. Hot water in the shower was a small relief amidst the chaos.
The room had an unsettling smell likely tied to shower sewage, and the bedsheets were stained—definitely not up to standard. After two hours of waiting, the shower problem was addressed, but honestly, the shower was too dirty to use. I've stayed in some rough places, but this one really missed the mark.

Kingston's hidden gem 🌟
Comfy bed, hot shower, and friendly staff made my stay super lekker! Just a short stroll to town centre, and their help was on point when I needed it. Big up to the chommie at check-in!
Only issues were the noisy guests—bit of a bliksem that, but manageable.
